As a Junior Project Manager specializing in Interior Design, you will collaborate closely with our Principal and Senior Project Manager to orchestrate and monitor all elements of design projects. This includes fostering client relationships, overseeing development and construction administration, managing procurement, and ensuring seamless client engagement. You will also undertake various administrative tasks as needed.
- Support project coordination by managing client interactions, collaborating with the Principal to craft aesthetic design concepts, defining the scope of work, and establishing project budgets alongside clients and relevant trades.
- Assist in all aspects of project coordination such as scheduling, logistical planning, and cost tracking. You will be instrumental in the formulation of work proposals, detailing scope, timelines, and budgets in partnership with team members, clients, and associated trades.
- Provide technical assistance during site evaluations, compiling essential specification data (including lighting fixture schedules and paint schedules) to ensure precise execution of design concepts on-site.
- Possess a thorough understanding of furniture and architectural finishes, coupled with experience in drafting product specifications and a grasp of scale.
- Collaborate with the Principal to generate design concepts and technical drawings that effectively communicate ideas to clients and trades. Drawings will encompass floor plans, furniture layouts, millwork details, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and custom furniture designs.
- Facilitate procurement of furnishings necessary to realize design concepts, from selection to installation. This role involves working with the Principal and team to identify suitable furnishings, liaising with vendors for procurement coordination, and presenting options, pricing, and other details to clients.
- Oversee all design process elements with associated trades to ensure adherence to aesthetic design intentions for each furniture piece, including upholstery, refinishing, restoration, transportation, and installation.
- Accountable for timely reporting of client-related expenses and maintaining accurate invoicing records, including specifications, purchases, tracking, and billing.
- Qualifications include strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, creative problem-solving abilities, and proficient business writing.
