Join the International Crisis Group as an intern in our dedicated Early Warning and Research Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to CrisisWatch, our global conflict tracking initiative, while assisting in horizon scanning projects and supporting our research initiatives. This internship will immerse you in our unique approach to analyzing and disseminating research and early warning information regarding deadly conflicts, with the ultimate goal of preventing wars and advocating for policies that foster peace.
This full-time, six-month internship is unpaid and is set to commence in mid-June 2026. Candidates are preferred to be based in Brussels, where our team operates, or in London, where we also have an office.
Please note that this internship is only available to students currently enrolled in an academic program. Candidates must be able to integrate this internship into their curriculum for academic credit or have secured external funding (such as grants or scholarships) to participate.
What You Will Learn:
Collaborate with the Early Warning & Research Unit to prepare and publish our monthly CrisisWatch conflict tracker, which is essential for keeping decision-makers informed about developments in over 70 conflicts and crises, helping to identify trends and alerting them to escalating risks while promoting peace opportunities.
Contribute to the development of Horizon Scanning briefings for policymakers.
Conduct research and draft background materials on specific conflicts, global issues, and geopolitical trends.
Maintain and update the Early Warning & Research Unit's databases.
Participate in meetings and events (both online and in-person) and take minutes as necessary.
Perform administrative tasks pertinent to the operations of the Early Warning & Research Unit.
