We are excited to invite a passionate and forward-thinking intern to join our dynamic electrochemistry team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to the development and refinement of automated electrochemical synthesis and testing workflows. This hands-on position will require you to design and fabricate custom prototypes, plan and conduct experiments across various aqueous and non-aqueous chemistries, characterize the materials produced, and apply data-driven methodologies to improve experimental outcomes systematically. This role sits at the convergence of materials science, chemistry, and laboratory automation, providing a unique chance to be part of groundbreaking research and development.
Your Contributions Will Include:
- Rapid Prototyping of Electrochemical Cells: Leverage in-house additive manufacturing techniques (3D FDM or SLA printing) and laser cutting to create specialized components. Integrate commercially available fittings, membranes, and sensors while establishing assembly SOPs to guarantee reproducibility and safe handling of reactive materials.
- Design, Plan, and Execute Experiments: Conceptualize and perform iterative electrochemical synthesis and testing experiments utilizing both manual and automated platforms. Analyze results from each phase to inform and enhance subsequent experiments.
- Work Across Diverse Chemistries: Innovate and modify synthesis, characterization, and testing protocols for both batch and flow electrochemical systems.
- Characterize Materials: Conduct thorough liquid and gas characterization of reactants and products to evaluate and monitor progress toward target specifications.
- Workflow and Design Optimization: Methodically adjust experimental workflows and prototype designs to discern their effects on results.
- Document and Share Results: Maintain meticulous records of experiments and findings to support ongoing and future research initiatives.
