The PMO at LLNL is dedicated to delivering engineering, design, estimating, construction, demolition, and project management services that support groundbreaking research and development initiatives in defense technologies, global security, laser science, bioscience, and more. Our comprehensive infrastructure services ensure the reliable delivery of projects, prioritizing safety, collaboration, and a dedicated workforce working towards a unified vision.
This position may offer a hybrid schedule, allowing for flexible work-from-home options after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule will depend on team and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee small to moderately complex construction and infrastructure projects, or serve as a task lead on larger projects with minimal supervision.
- Manage daily operations related to safety, quality, scheduling, cost, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, and field activities with limited guidance from senior project managers.
- Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, risk, and budget in alignment with established processes, including the preparation of estimates, change control actions, and monthly status reports while monitoring earned value and cost performance.
- Prepare and present project updates to clients and stakeholders, leading client interface activities and stakeholder meetings while escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Utilize independent judgment in the preparation and maintenance of the Project Execution Plan and associated project documentation, ensuring all files are organized and audit-ready.
- Identify and engage internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs, ensuring their involvement in project planning and execution.
- Participate in safety inspections and design reviews, ensuring compliance with LLNL safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
