Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the In-house tree planting pilot program under the guidance of managers and supervisors.
- Conduct soil sampling and prepare tree beds, including planting, maintaining, mulching, irrigating, pruning, and weeding of trees, flowers, and plants.
- Train and supervise employees and volunteers in various horticultural tasks related to tree planting and maintenance.
- Execute horticultural tasks such as transplanting, potting, and balling trees and plants.
- Handle small tree and stump removals.
- Amend and grade soil for optimal tree bed preparation.
- Maintain all equipment and supplies related to tree care and irrigation.
- Assist with the unloading, storage, and maintenance of tree deliveries from nurseries.
- Utilize agency tree maintenance applications to gather essential data.
- Operate transportation vehicles, tractors, and other heavy machinery as required.
- Keep accurate records and prepare reports, overseeing the inventory of tools and supplies.
- Recommend purchases and select plants and new equipment.
- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating high work ethics and performance.
- Carry out additional horticultural and park maintenance duties as needed.
- Assist with storm response initiatives as required.
