The HSE Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring safety standards during Engineering and Construction projects, including Pre-commissioning and Commissioning phases. This position is integral for maintaining a culture of safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with both company and regulatory standards.
- Take ownership of safety controls within designated areas of the project.
- Conduct thorough audits and inspections of HSE practices to ensure effective site management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations and standards.
- Coordinate safety efforts between subcontractors and site personnel.
- Design and facilitate orientation programs for all project employees.
- Act as the liaison for site client supervision.
- Supervise and mentor HSE Officers on site.
- Prepare and submit regular safety reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and Samsung Construction Management for safety enhancements.
- Identify and develop strategies to improve site safety conditions.
- Implement and manage the company's HSE program effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) assessments.
- Conduct periodic safety drills and inspections to ensure ERT member readiness.
- Support the construction team in applying the Permit to Work system.
- Assist in the implementation of company-wide HSE initiatives, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
- Develop Project-Specific Safety, Health, and Environmental Plans.
- Conduct Task Risk Assessments and prepare Toolbox Talks to promote HSE awareness.
- Manage and maintain HSE documentation, statistics, manuals, and procedures.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of safety drills and procedures regarding firefighting and personal safety.
