Heavy Equipment Repair Mechanic

Job Summary: Join our dynamic team at The Misch Group as a talented Heavy Equipment Repair Mechanic in Los Angeles. We are looking for an experienced, self-driven individual adept in the repair and maintenance of various heavy equipment. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and resolving issues related to specialized utility and cable-handling machinery. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on diverse heavy machinery, including:
Bucket Trucks (aerial lifts)
Digger Derricks
Cable Handling Trailers
Underground Pullers
Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
Perform repairs and replacements on components like engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical wiring.
Carry out detailed inspections to detect potential issues and ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.
Maintain precise records of all maintenance and repair tasks completed.
Follow all safety protocols and standards diligently.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair progress and any arising issues.
Keep the workspace organized and clean.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, specifically with bucket trucks, digger derricks, cable handling trailers, and underground pullers.
Must have a comprehensive personal toolset sufficient for the duties required.
Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, electrical (12V/24V systems), and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics efficiently.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair intricate systems.
Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
