As a Heating Plant Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient heating operations across various development locations. Your responsibilities will include operating heating and domestic hot water boilers, monitoring CHAS equipment, and performing necessary maintenance and repairs on a range of heating equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate and maintain heating systems and domestic hot water boilers.
2. Monitor and maintain heating equipment; ensure compliance with safety protocols.
3. Adjust, repair, and maintain boilers, industrial oil burners, and auxiliary equipment.
4. Stand watch and manage low-pressure boilers.
5. Assist in the inspection and testing of boilers and related systems.
6. Dismantle and assemble heating equipment as needed; requisition parts accordingly.
7. Conduct and schedule tank inspections to ensure compliance.
8. Address and resolve heating and hot water service disruptions promptly.
9. Troubleshoot heating system issues and provide technical expertise.
10. Collaborate with skilled trade administrators during ticket reviews.
11. Follow up on heating-related issues at assigned locations.
12. Maintain logs and documentation as required.
In addition, when assigned to a roving team in the Operations area, you will respond to emergency dispatches and perform minor repairs to rectify alarm conditions, particularly those stemming from steam and hot water abnormalities. You will also operate a vehicle to travel to work sites and transport necessary equipment throughout the five boroughs. Ensure your assigned vehicle is in proper working condition, report any maintenance needs, and complete required reports.
Note: This position requires flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis. Shifts are as follows:
5:00 AM - 1:00 PM
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
