Handshake is on the lookout for proficient KiCad users to contribute to AI research in a flexible, project-based capacity. This role is not your typical full-time position; rather, it allows you to leverage your hands-on expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout, or embedded hardware design to assess AI-generated content and provide critical feedback, enhancing the AI's understanding of electronics design tasks and EDA workflows.

Ideal Candidate
This role is well-suited for experienced KiCad users who have held positions such as:
Hardware Engineer or Embedded Systems Engineer
PCB Designer or Electronics Technician
IoT Developer or Circuit Design Engineer
Candidates should possess substantial experience in one or more of the following areas:
Schematic capture, PCB layout, or embedded hardware design using KiCad or LibrePCB
IoT hardware design, embedded systems, or EDA tool workflows
Annotating or labeling circuit schematics and PCB design assets
Evaluating PCB designs for accuracy, performance, or design consistency
Your Responsibilities
Utilize your KiCad experience to formulate tool-related inquiries and assess AI-generated responses for precision and relevance within real-world hardware engineering and PCB design workflows. No prior AI or technical experience is necessary.
Required Qualifications
We seek candidates who have:
A minimum of 3+ years of practical experience with KiCad, whether through professional roles or freelance engagements. Familiarity with LibrePCB is advantageous.
A solid understanding of schematic capture, PCB layout concepts, and EDA workflows.
Exceptional written communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
The ability to work autonomously and adhere to written instructions.
