The Emerging Markets team is dedicated to stimulating growth within local economies by forging impactful partnerships with merchants in high-potential yet underserved markets. We focus on Tier 4 and Tier 5 geographies, which represent a significant portion of DoorDash's growth strategy, accounting for over 40% of remaining restaurant opportunities as we expand beyond our established cities and suburbs. Our mission is to establish initial connections with small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), including restaurants and retailers, helping them thrive through our on-demand delivery services.
This position entails extensive travel within the region. Candidates should reside near a major airport.
About the Role
As the Growth Merchant Lead (GML), you will be instrumental in expanding DoorDash’s market presence by launching new markets and establishing restaurant partnerships on our platform. This role encompasses a high-paced, direct sales cycle with a focus on developing Tier 4-5 (“emerging”) markets, which are among DoorDash's largest growth areas. The position entails significant travel (70%+) and is perfect for individuals driven to build new markets from the ground up and directly influence market expansion.

This is a field sales role requiring frequent travel throughout the region to meet with merchants, with some remote work expected. Additionally, the role will involve travel for in-person collaboration during training sessions, team-building events, and other business-related activities.
