The Emerging Markets team is dedicated to fostering growth in local economies by establishing impactful partnerships with merchants in underdeveloped, high-opportunity markets. Our primary focus lies in Tier 4 and Tier 5 geographies, representing one of DoorDash’s top company priorities and accounting for over 40% of the remaining restaurant opportunities as we extend our reach beyond core cities and suburbs. Our mission is to forge initial connections with small to medium-sized restaurants and retailers, assisting them in scaling and monetizing their businesses through on-demand delivery services.
This role involves extensive travel within the region, and candidates are expected to reside near a major airport.
About the Role
As a Growth Merchant Lead (GML), you will be instrumental in expanding DoorDash’s market presence by launching new markets and establishing fresh restaurant partnerships on our platform. You will manage a dynamic, in-person sales cycle, dedicating the majority of your efforts to developing Tier 4-5 (“emerging”) markets, which represent some of DoorDash’s largest remaining opportunities. This role necessitates substantial travel (over 70%) and is ideally suited for individuals who thrive on building new markets from the ground up and directly influencing market growth.

This field sales role primarily involves traveling within the region to engage with merchants, with occasional remote work.
