Founded in 2010, Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) has been dedicated to delivering a robust academic experience to over 1200 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in Far Rockaway, Queens. Our mission is to empower students from the greater Far Rockaway community, equipping them with the skills to excel academically, master the NY State Learning Standards, and realize their career aspirations. Role Overview
As a vital member of the Instructional Team at Challenge Charter Schools, the Grade 8 Social Studies Teacher will play an instrumental role in helping students develop the skills and confidence necessary to pursue various pathways, including college and career. Our educators are dedicated advocates for our students and their families, striving relentlessly to provide access to impactful opportunities. We prioritize attracting and nurturing individuals who resonate with the life experiences of our students, as we believe that the most effective teaching is rooted in understanding our families' realities. In this role, you will deliver outstanding instruction, assess student progress, and actively contribute to fostering a supportive academic and cultural environment within your school and team.
