About the Role:
As a Global Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for high-quality drone components. Your focus will encompass mechanical assemblies, motors, optics, molded plastics, machined metals, composites, image sensors, camera modules, and mobile and AI chipsets.
Your Impact:
Create comprehensive technology and commodity roadmaps for ongoing and future initiatives, acting as a bridge between supply chain and engineering teams for supplier and component selection during new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining projects. Identify and engage high-potential suppliers globally.
Build strong relationships with supply chain partners, overseeing vendor selection, cost negotiations, support, and product transactions. Take charge of RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's to ensure thorough documentation of commercial terms.
Steer price negotiations to guarantee Skydio’s commodity pricing remains competitive. Conduct spend analysis, assess current suppliers, and maintain forecasts for commodity consumption while analyzing purchasing trends to devise sourcing alternatives.
Collaborate with finance and accounting teams during monthly close and financial planning cycles.
Develop and manage metrics to ensure product quality, performance, and durability.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm for manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement processes.
Proficient in managing complex negotiations, RFP issues, and conducting cost/price analysis.
Experience with cost models to establish should-cost and negotiate sourcing prices for cost reduction.
Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
