Main Purpose of the Job:
The Global Product and Accreditation Manager will oversee the SGS Global Forest Management Certification operations, specifically managing FSC Forest Management accreditation and supervising local PEFC FM accreditations. This role is pivotal in supporting the Global Forestry Team to foster the development and expansion of the Forest Management business.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Global Head of Forestry and Nature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the global development of the Business Assurance (BA) Forest Management certification business for FSC FM and PEFC FM.
- Oversee FSC Forest Management accreditation and provide support for local PEFC FM accreditations.
- Coordinate and manage accreditation body audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
- Handle complaints and appeals following SGS policies and accreditation requirements.
- Prepare documentation and information for Advisory Board meetings.
- Ensure certification competence through auditor approvals and technical sign-offs.
- Monitor quality management activities and the performance of SGS affiliates.
- Conduct internal technical audits aligned with the global internal audit plan.
- Oversee Level 1 (L1) audits pertinent to accreditations.
- Conduct technical reviews of certification reports for compliance with accreditation standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to SGS affiliates.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Ensure continued accuracy of the FSC database.
- Adhere to quality and safety standards set by the SGS management system.
- Perform FSC Forest Management audits as required.
- Execute additional reasonable tasks as assigned by the direct line manager.
Specific Authorities:
- Terminate use of any equipment posing safety risks or entering hazardous environments without proper knowledge and protection, reporting such situations to higher authorities.
- Cease activities affecting service integrity and report to higher authorities for further action.
- Initiate formal improvement requests upon system deviations or identification of possible enhancements.
