About the Role
As a Global Bug Reporting Engineer (Part-time), you will take ownership of Groupon's global bug queue specifically for our B2B clients. This role will involve learning to effectively triage issues, prioritize them based on their impact, and facilitate resolutions across our engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage incoming bugs: Analyze logs, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and stack traces to identify root causes.
- Create minimal reproductions from vague client reports, including steps, payloads, and screenshots.
- Prioritize issues based on impact scores considering severity, client count, and SLA risks.
- Manage the JIRA backlog: Utilize JQL queries, track workflows, and maintain dashboards to ensure progress toward deployment.
- Negotiate with Product Managers and engineers for sprint inclusion; communicate effectively with clients.
Key Requirements
- Interest in L3 support, technical QA, or incident management in SaaS/B2B environments (1+ years of experience is a plus).
- Basic familiarity with JIRA and observability tools such as Datadog and Kibana; ability to learn quickly.
- Comfort with logs, APIs, and stack traces; skills in creating reproductions can be developed.
Nice to Have
- A degree in software engineering or certifications in development/testing.
- Experience with financial or SLA impact scoring.
