Compensation: $37/hour USD
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
We are seeking a talented and experienced Gameplay Designer to enhance vehicle dynamics and racing experiences for an upcoming AAA racing title. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to design, tune, and validate our racing experience.
The ideal candidate will leverage specialized databases, proprietary tools, and third-party wheel controllers to optimize vehicle performance and gameplay events, driving our long-term objectives. You will not only focus on core design responsibilities but also aid in realizing the game’s vision, presenting findings, identifying efficiency improvements, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery using industry best practices.
The successful applicant will possess a keen eye for detail, excel in problem-solving, and demonstrate a strong ability to learn quickly. A thorough understanding of intricate game mechanics, creative design principles, and proficiency with various technical tools is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide insightful feedback on third-party racing wheel controllers to ensure authentic driving experiences.
- Oversee the entire process of designing vehicle dynamics and gameplay content on a large scale.
- Finalize tuning of vehicle dynamics and gameplay elements.
- Design improvements for proprietary gameplay tools.
- Create engaging game designs and events catering to a diverse audience with varying playstyles and motivations.
- Foster collaboration with stakeholders across different teams, including design, data analysis, release management, and community management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a designer on a game development team.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to gather accurate data efficiently.
- Proficiency with racing and driving gameplay features and programs.
- Experience with proprietary physics toolsets.
- Ability to execute basic SQL queries is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one shipped title with designer credit.
- Experience with console and AAA+ titles.
- A background in automotive culture and an understanding of gaming culture.
- Insight into what constitutes a high-quality gaming experience.
