Position Overview
Rocketship is excited to announce the opening of a new region in Orange County, CA, set to launch in the 2027-2028 school year. We are in search of outstanding Founding Fellows to join our team in the Summer of 2025. These individuals will initially be immersed in one of our existing regions, preparing to establish our new Southern California location in August 2027. Over the next two years, Founding Fellows will dive deep into our Rocketship culture and educational model.
In the role of Founding Fellow, candidates will first serve as Assistant Principals (APs) in an established Rocketship school during the 2025-2026 academic year. Following this experience, they will play a pivotal role as founding members of our inaugural Orange County school.
Our dedicated team of educators, operational specialists, and network support personnel are united in our mission to eliminate the achievement gap. School leaders and teachers are essential to Rocketship's impact model. During the 2025-2026 school year, Founding Fellows will actively contribute to an existing Rocketship school in California, taking on the responsibilities of Assistant Principals (APs) while entering our Rising Leaders program and having the opportunity to apply for the Diversity in Leadership Institute. APs will be responsible for driving academic success for our Rocketeers while fostering strong family relationships to cultivate a disciplined, college-preparatory school culture.
Each AP collaborates closely with their Principal to realize and implement the instructional vision for one to three grade levels. APs will manage and coach teachers through leading data analysis sessions, conducting regular classroom observations, providing ongoing feedback, and co-creating lesson plans designed to enhance educator effectiveness and leadership. Additionally, APs will act as cultural and community leaders, enhancing teacher capacity in areas such as culture, behavior, and parent engagement.
