Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive searches and analyze results to differentiate between responsive and non-responsive documents, while screening for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
- Redact and categorize responsive documents accordingly.
- Execute legal research effectively.
- Draft various legal documents as required.
Qualifications:
- A paralegal certificate, Juris Doctor (JD), or enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed is required.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a litigation paralegal; trial experience is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency with eDiscovery tools such as Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and other document review software is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- In-depth understanding of FOIA rules and regulations, including the application of exemptions.
- Solid foundation in legal concepts, including standard legal citation for checking legal motions and memoranda, and experience with legal research tools like LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with thorough familiarity with various computer applications including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and document management systems.
