CGS Federal is on the lookout for an experienced and motivated FOIA Analyst to support the legal mission of a prominent federal agency. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, drafting FOIA correspondence, and effectively managing communications and negotiations related to FOIA matters.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze new and existing FOIA requests.
- Organize incoming requests and prepare FOIA request documentation.
- Input request data into the FOIA tracking database.
- Draft response letters and other correspondence related to FOIA.
- Engage with requesters, FOIA staff, and other stakeholders to negotiate terms regarding document requests.
- Act as a liaison for requesters, and occasionally collaborate with other agencies regarding complex records.
- Coordinate searches for relevant documents and identify duplicates.
- Evaluate program records for compliance and provide recommendations for document release.
- Ensure that released materials comply with applicable exemptions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in processing FOIA requests.
- Strong understanding of FOIA regulations, particularly exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
- Proficient in redacting sensitive information related to trade secrets and confidential commercial data.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
