General Overview
The Facilities HVAC Technician II plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal functioning of HVAC and refrigeration systems within our company’s facilities. Working with limited supervision, you will perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment while contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
This role is primarily on-site, engaging across 9 buildings at our Alameda campus, with occasional duties at our Livermore campus.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct routine maintenance and service for HVAC and refrigeration systems under limited supervision.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks, including filter replacements, belt changes, lubrication, and visual inspections of internal components, while documenting findings for management.
• Manage inventory by ordering and collecting necessary materials for HVAC and refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
• Respond promptly to service requests via our internal work order system.
• Collaborate with external vendors for specialized HVAC and refrigeration services as needed.
• Assist in the assembly, relocation, or repair of office furniture, including cubicles and desks.
• Identify additional maintenance needs throughout the campus and report them for further action.
• Work independently or as part of a team, following direction from supervisors or leads.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards as established by the company.
• Comply with the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant regulations.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and other applicable regulations within the organization.
• Mentor and guide team members in following QMS and safety standards.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficient in the use of standard powered and non-powered tools, with the ability to safely work at heights.
• Familiarity with standard office software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with basic computer literacy.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers, contractors, and vendors.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Excellent organizational capabilities with a proven ability to prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
