With a dedicated team of 10 skilled attorneys across 4 offices, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional, client-focused legal services within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
The Opportunity
We are in search of an Executive Director to lead our operational initiatives from our Richmond office. This key position will serve as the principal leader of the firm’s Management Team, overseeing administrative, financial, and operational functions that empower our attorneys and staff at all locations.
Initially based in Richmond, this role will collaborate closely with firm leadership during a planned transition period. The position necessitates monthly travel to our other offices to foster alignment, enhance culture, and support local teams.
This strategic leadership role is ideal for an individual with substantial law firm experience who comprehends the intricacies of managing a multi-office professional services environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight
- Manage financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger integrity.
- Support the development and implementation of accounting systems and financial processes.
- Ensure timely monthly financial reporting and maintenance of related schedules.
- Coordinate with CPA on tax filings and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in calculating ownership earnings and structuring associate bonuses.
- Oversee payroll processes and associated benefit reconciliations.
- Guide capital purchasing and leasing decisions.
Benefits Administration
- Manage benefit programs and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Collaborate with brokers to assess the competitiveness of benefit offerings.
- Ensure effective communication regarding enrollment periods and plan updates.
Human Resources Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight for staff across all four offices.
- Assist attorneys in managing personnel matters.
- Guide the hiring, onboarding, performance management, and transitions of staff.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and standards outlined in the handbook.
- Engage external professionals for employment matters as necessary.
IT, Facilities, and Vendor Management
- Oversee office space planning and lease considerations.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and business partners.
- Support infrastructure and technology planning across all offices.
