This position is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract to cover maternity leave.
We are on the lookout for a proactive, strategic, and collaborative Ethics & Compliance Officer who will serve as a trusted partner to the business. You will play a crucial role in driving the implementation and ongoing enhancement of our global Ethics & Compliance Programme.
This role is essential in instilling ethical standards, regulatory compliance, and robust controls within a fast-paced pharmaceutical services environment. Your efforts will contribute to strengthening Clinigen’s culture by fostering ethical decision-making, supporting compliance governance, managing risks, and empowering teams to operate responsibly and transparently.
Key Responsibilities
Ethics & Compliance Programme
- Assist in the development and implementation of global ethics and compliance policies and initiatives.
- Participate in updates to the Code of Ethics, internal campaigns, and cultural enhancement activities.
- Encourage a strong Speak Up culture throughout the organization.
- Support compliance risk assessments, track mitigation efforts, and conduct horizon scanning.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Carry out compliance monitoring and assist in reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and compliance reports.
- Collaborate across functions (QA, RA, Audit) to ensure remediation and continuous improvement.
- Support control mapping and testing of key risk areas.
Training & Culture
- Facilitate compliance training sessions (e.g., Code of Ethics, ABAC, COI).
- Create communication materials and tools to promote ethical decision-making.
- Contribute to global culture-building and audit readiness initiatives.
Investigations & Case Management
- Assist with the intake, tracking, and documentation of Speak Up cases.
- Maintain logs of investigations and monitor follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy requirements.
Policy Governance
- Coordinate updates and reviews of policies throughout their lifecycle.
- Assist in developing policies related to ESG, human rights, and ethical supply chains.
Risk & Third-Party Management
- Manage approvals (e.g., gifts, hospitality, COI) and identify risk trends.
- Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for third-party engagements.
- Monitor compliance related to sanctions, ABAC risks, and supply chain integrity.
