Overview
The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of products using a radio frequency (RF) unit to locate and transport products to various departments. This role involves processing customer orders and restocking products as needed throughout the production day.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate powered lift equipment for moving products and materials, utilizing RF units for scanning and identifying product locations.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products efficiently.
- Pick, pack, and restock products for customer orders.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned equipment at the start of each shift, ensuring it is returned in the same condition.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures for equipment use.
- Maintain SanMar's Lift Operator Certification in compliance with OSHA guidelines every three years.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned and comply with company policies and standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience as a lift operator.
- Ability to read, write, and identify colors, sizes, quantities, labels, and SKU information.
- Basic math skills for counting and quantities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work essential days or overtime as required.
Compensation
Salary Range: $18.75 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience.
