AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team in Little Hocking, Ohio. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to facilitate remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects at public water facilities and residential sites throughout southeastern Ohio and northwestern West Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring experience in general construction as well as environmental remediation and sampling. A strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on interests (such as construction, home repair, or auto maintenance) are highly valued. Typical projects will involve the operation and maintenance of public water supply and residential groundwater treatment systems, construction of support buildings, groundwater and soil sampling, and assistance with wastewater treatment.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Conducting routine fieldwork including environmental multi-media sampling, equipment operations, maintenance, and inspections while working under close supervision.
Providing support to project staff through various routine tasks.
Engaging in operations and maintenance activities related to groundwater remediation systems, including the extraction of impacted groundwater, performing necessary maintenance on recovery systems, collecting groundwater samples to assess system performance, and compiling field data.
Setting up and operating equipment, inspecting installations for compliance with specifications, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
Completion of OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training is required.
