The City of Mission is seeking two dynamic and enthusiastic students for a four to five-month internship.
In this role, you will undertake a variety of tasks focused on organizing and promoting initiatives related to environmental programming, with a specific emphasis on water conservation, waste diversion, and wildlife awareness. You will contribute to the curbside recycling visual audit program by collaborating with fellow summer staff to conduct audits of curbside recycling bins, gather and analyze data, and prepare comprehensive program reports.
Your responsibilities will also include customer service and outreach regarding environmental initiatives related to climate action and water conservation. Specific duties will encompass promoting and disseminating information on the City’s Environmental Charter, water conservation, and recycling initiatives by attending and representing the City at public events; conducting sprinkler patrols; preparing and maintaining reports, records, and correspondence; utilizing GIS data collection programs on tablets for field data collection; and providing general support to the Environmental Services Division and the Engineering & Public Works Department.
