- Design and execute comprehensive policies and programs that ensure adherence to local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards, across designated locations and teams.
Establish, implement, and maintain local safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment at all assigned sites.
Guide location managers and teams in fostering and executing safe operational practices.
Formulate and oversee procedures that ensure local compliance with corporate incident reporting and investigation policies.
Provide specialized EHS support to local investigative teams, pinpointing root causes and recommending corrective actions to avert future incidents.
Develop, organize, and deliver EHS training programs to ensure regulatory compliance at assigned locations.
Occasionally travel to various sites for general safety inspections.
Identify existing or potential EHS hazards and establish necessary corrective actions.
Maintain and manage an EHS compliance calendar to track all required regulatory and policy activities.
Participate actively in EHS-related committees, providing leadership for assigned locations and organizations.
Ensure timely reporting of mandatory regulatory events, including the annual OSHA 300 log and notifications of serious incidents.
Establish local systems (procedures, call trees, messaging systems) for EHS regulatory inspections and site visit coordination.
Develop local emergency response systems, including procedures, equipment specifications, training, and volunteer coordination.
Lead the emergency response capabilities at locations, ensuring necessary drills and training are conducted.
Monitor and evaluate both local and corporate EHS performance metrics.
Collaborate with site management to create corrective action plans and set objectives to enhance EHS compliance performance for the coming year.
Analyze and disseminate EHS data trends and compliance performance reports.
Facilitate location EHS review meetings with site leadership, EHS Corporate, and higher management levels.
Conduct annual audits and reviews at assigned locations to ensure compliance with EHS policies and regulations, developing corrective action plans as necessary.
Plan and execute environmental compliance programs, including the acquisition of necessary permits and submission of relevant reports.
