Key Responsibilities

- Prepare for duty by receiving instructions from the platoon commander regarding assignments and inspecting patrol vehicles and equipment for operational integrity.
- Conduct foot or vehicular patrols within your district, utilize Mobile Video Terminal computers, operate radios, identify criminal activity, and engage with the community.
- Respond to service calls, mediate disputes, provide emergency assistance, and administer first aid when necessary.
- Carry out investigations by collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and compiling case information.
- Enhance community policing efforts by interacting with local businesses, educating citizens on laws and rights, and participating in community meetings and programs.
- Make arrests or detain suspects as required.
- Engage in pursuits, establish perimeters, and coordinate with partners during chases.
- Enforce traffic regulations and manage parking violations.
- Document incidents by writing reports, maintaining records, and creating accident scene diagrams.
- Collaborate with superiors, peers, and department personnel in various activities.
- Prepare for and participate in community events, manage traffic, and work with other agencies to secure event areas.
- Attend court proceedings, review relevant documents, and provide testimony as needed.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
