A MISSION WORTHY OF A CAREER!
Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling career that makes a significant impact on the safety and security of our nation? The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our elite team of Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) at the entry level. This is not just a job; it's a commitment to uphold the law and protect our borders.
USBP is actively hiring for full-time positions in federal law enforcement, where your background in public safety, security, military, or law enforcement could qualify you. Join a team renowned for its camaraderie, pride, and mission to safeguard America.
Now is an opportune time to apply, as we offer competitive base pay, outstanding benefits, and job stability, along with up to $60,000 in additional recruitment incentives (details below).
Salary and Benefits
Annual base salary for newly appointed BPAs ranges by grade level: GL-5/GL-7 $51,632 - $92,219 per year. Agents can select from a comprehensive range of federal employment benefits, including health, dental, and other insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, similar to a traditional ROTH 401(k).
Recruitment Incentive
Newly appointed Border Patrol Agents will be eligible for up to $20,000 in incentives. The first $10,000 will be granted upon successful completion of the Border Patrol Academy, with the remaining $10,000 awarded for accepting a prioritized location such as Sierra Blanca, Presidio, Sanderson, Comstock, Freer, or Hebbronville, TX; Lordsburg, NM; or Ajo, AZ.
Retention Incentive
Newly appointed BPAs may qualify for an additional $40,000 in incentives distributed over their first four years.
Duty Locations
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Duty assignments available at the time of offer may include the Southwest Border, including prioritized locations. U.S. Border Patrol determines duty assignments based on operational needs, which may not align with candidates' preferences. RELOCATION MAY BE REQUIRED.
Duty locations impact pay rates; locality pay for federal law enforcement is higher in certain areas. A fully trained BPA may be eligible for up to an additional 25% of base pay under the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014. This is a career ladder position with a progression from GL-5 to GS-12.
