Our commitment is to empower this evolution by creating innovative tools and experiences that thousands of developers utilize to build their unique products. We power the services relied upon by millions to enhance their financial well-being, collaborating with notable companies such as Venmo, SoFi, many Fortune 500 firms, and major banks to facilitate seamless connections between financial accounts and the apps people love to use.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London, and Amsterdam, Plaid’s expansive network covers over 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. Our Remember Me - Consumer team is dedicated to developing the next generation of direct-to-consumer products. Our mission is to instill confidence and security in individuals as they navigate their financial journeys, through intuitive and trustworthy experiences powered by Plaid’s robust network.
As part of this team, you will lead the development of a new consumer-facing security and bank account monitoring product focused on proactive fraud detection and enhanced financial visibility. This role represents a significant step in expanding Plaid’s direct-to-consumer offerings. As the Technical Lead Manager for the Consumer team, you will balance hands-on technical leadership with effective people management, ensuring the technical foundation of the product is robust while driving key architectural decisions and raising engineering standards through design reviews and mentorship.
Your responsibilities will include leading technical design and execution for consumer-facing security and monitoring systems, owning backend architecture, data flows, and identity and authentication integrations, while hiring, managing, and nurturing a talented engineering team. You will maintain a high standard for security, reliability, and operational excellence, partner cross-functionally to align product goals with technical strategies, and leverage data and experimentation to enhance onboarding, engagement, and user value.
