About the Team
The Marketing team at OpenAI plays a crucial role in promoting responsible and widespread AI adoption. Within this framework, the Startups Marketing function is dedicated to empowering founders and early-stage companies by helping them discover, adopt, and effectively scale their operations on OpenAI’s platform. Our approach includes engaging field programs, impactful events, valuable content, community initiatives, and strategic ecosystem partnerships.
In the EMEA region, our efforts are closely aligned with regional go-to-market (GTM) strategies and are executed in collaboration with Sales, Partnerships, Developer Experience, Product, and Communications teams, all while maintaining alignment with our global startup strategy and messaging.
About the Role
As the EMEA Startup & Field Marketing Manager, you will be pivotal in bridging startup GTM, field marketing, community engagement, and ecosystem collaboration throughout the region.
Reporting to the leadership of EMEA B2B Marketing, and closely aligned with the global Startups Marketing division, you will take charge of executing OpenAI’s startup field marketing strategy in the region. This entails translating global objectives into impactful, locally relevant initiatives that promote startup adoption, support pipeline development, and foster long-term ecosystem resilience.
This role demands an individual adept at navigating both strategic planning and hands-on execution, ensuring that you can set the overall direction, create actionable plans, and execute them effectively. You will need to fluidly switch between long-term vision and immediate execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Collaborating closely with regional Startup and GTM teams, you will drive pipeline generation and accelerate deals while establishing strong relationships with founders, investors, accelerators, and ecosystem partners. Whether participating in major industry events (such as Slush, Bits & Pretzels, and Web Summit) or organizing our own events, hackathons, and community programs, you will ensure that OpenAI is recognized as a credible and impactful player in the EMEA startup ecosystem.
