About the job
Join Helion as an Electrical Systems Engineer
At Helion, located in Everett, WA, we are pioneering the future of energy by developing the world's first fusion power plant, aiming to provide limitless clean electricity. Our vision is to create a sustainable world with reliable and affordable energy accessible to everyone.
Founded in 2013, we have successfully raised over $1 billion from renowned investors including Sam Altman, Mithril, Capricorn Investment Group, SoftBank, and Lightspeed. Our latest prototype, Trenta, completed an impressive 10,000 high-power pulses and achieved plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius. We are currently advancing our Polaris prototype, which plays a crucial role in our journey towards establishing the first fusion power plant.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Helion at a transformative moment. You will be part of a dedicated team that values urgency, precision, accountability, and a commitment to transparency—principles that are vital for achieving unprecedented milestones in energy production.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
As the Electrical Systems Engineer, you will lead the integration of advanced electrical subsystems into our next-generation fusion machinery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Integrating electrical components and subsystems into cohesive systems.
- Defining, maintaining, and enforcing system-level requirements and interface control documents (ICDs) across interdisciplinary teams.
- Designing, documenting, and validating electrical harnesses to ensure manufacturability and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborating with harness suppliers to manage production deliveries and prototype reviews.
- Engaging in hands-on work in the lab to troubleshoot integration issues and validate system functionality.
