SUMMARY
Lead and oversee a dynamic team of Electrical Engineers, ensuring excellence in all engineering-related activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver electrical and software engineering support throughout the design, development, inspection, and testing phases of products and services. Ensure the team is adequately staffed and equipped for all electrical and software engineering initiatives. Provide strategic leadership and technical guidance for product and service development. Assess and identify technical training needs for the engineering team, fostering their professional growth. Maintain effective communication with customers regarding engineering activities. Undertake the duties and responsibilities of both Electrical and Senior Electrical Engineers as required. Perform additional related duties to promote an efficient and productive work environment. Ensure compliance with Atec's International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and promptly report any deviations to the relevant area manager or supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the operational functions of electrical engineering, design, and support activities. Execute supervisory duties in alignment with organizational policies and legal regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training electrical and software engineering personnel; planning, assigning, and directing work assignments; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Familiarize yourself with Atec's Quality Policy and organizational objectives. Comprehend the necessary AS9100/ISO specific procedures and work instructions. Complete all required documentation in line with procedures and work instructions. Engage in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) initiatives as appropriate. Participate in AS9100/ISO training as mandated. Cooperate with auditors and report deviations to the relevant area manager or supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience. Proficiency in computer programs, including LabVIEW graphical software, Ladder Logic software, spreadsheets, project management tools, databases, presentation graphics, and word processing software is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must meet all qualifications for job descriptions requiring security clearance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position requires the ability to handle frequent, extended air travel along with the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods as part of normal operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may encounter standard travel risks, exposure to electrical power systems, and occasional interaction with moving mechanical parts.
