As the Director of Social Commerce Merchandising, you will spearhead how our brand engages and converts customers across social-first commerce platforms. Your role will involve crafting a comprehensive merchandising strategy, assembling a dynamic team, and establishing an experimentation engine that will elevate TikTok Shop, Meta Shops, and Shopify into high-converting revenue streams.
This leadership position requires a balance of instinct and data-driven insights, focusing on measurable growth across all social commerce interactions.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be evaluated based on the following key metrics:
1. Revenue Growth in Social Commerce
- Lead and expand revenue initiatives across TikTok Shop, Meta Shops, and Shopify
- Set channel-specific revenue targets within the first month
- Develop a comprehensive 12-month revenue growth strategy in collaboration with eCommerce leadership
2. Shopify Performance Optimization
Enhance core Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) metrics by year-end:
- Increase Revenue Per Visitor (RPV)
- Boost Conversion Rates (CVR)
- Enhance Average Order Value (AOV)
- Optimize cart-to-checkout processes
3. A/B Testing Framework
Establish and manage a structured experimentation process for social commerce and site merchandising:
- Conduct 2-4 tests monthly
- Document all findings and next steps
- Aim for a 20-30% statistically significant success rate
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Define KPIs and performance objectives for all direct reports within 60 days
- Build a high-performing merchandising team with clear roles and career paths
- Ensure strong team engagement and satisfaction
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Deliver a merchandising roadmap within the first 90 days
- Implement a prioritization framework that aligns with Growth and Marketing
- Ensure that a majority of initiatives align with the company's strategic objectives
6. Ownership of TikTok Shop Channel
- Grow TikTok Shop as a primary revenue source
- Define GMV and conversion benchmarks upon hire
- Expand creator affiliate SKU offerings
- Establish performance baselines and growth trajectories
7. Assortment & Bundling Strategy
- Launch new product bundles and drops on a quarterly basis
- Boost bundle attach rates
- Encourage repeat purchases through innovative merchandising strategies
Qualifications
Data-Driven Merchandising Insight
Possess a strong instinct for what drives conversions, validated through rigorous testing and reporting.
Proficiency in Social Commerce
Extensive, hands-on experience with:
- TikTok Shop Seller Center
- Meta Commerce Manager
- Shopify Plus
