The Director of Parts Logistics and Operations for Customer Support at BEUMER Group is a pivotal leadership position that commands visibility and impact. This role is dedicated to the optimization of parts logistics operations, ensuring efficient procurement, storage, distribution, and management of parts and components across the organization. The Director will collaborate with suppliers, manage inventory, and lead a dedicated team to guarantee timely availability of parts while adhering to cost efficiency and maintaining high-quality standards. Reporting directly to the Vice President and General Manager of the Customer Support division for North America, the Director will play a critical role in a globally integrated organization that oversees essential regional functions and deliverables across various business segments.
The Director will also lead a team of Spare Parts Specialists who are responsible for nurturing customer relationships from a spare parts perspective and proactively engage customers to boost spare parts sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute logistics strategies for the procurement, storage, and distribution of parts and components.
- Oversee supplier and vendor coordination to guarantee timely parts delivery and compliance with quality standards.
- Manage the transportation and distribution of parts to multiple locations, including warehouses and end-users.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize excess inventory and stockouts.
- Implement inventory control measures and best practices to enhance accuracy and minimize losses.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations.
- Direct warehouse operations as part of comprehensive logistics and operational management.
- Lead and mentor logistics and warehouse teams, providing training and support to ensure operational efficiency.
- Establish performance metrics and goals for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate service levels.
- Utilize data analysis to monitor logistics performance, identify trends, and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
- Forge and maintain robust supplier and vendor relationships to negotiate favorable terms and resolve issues.
- Monitor supplier performance and quality, addressing any delivery, quality, or cost-related issues.
- Develop and manage the budget for parts logistics operations, including forecasting and expense control.
- Analyze financial reports and metrics to ensure budget compliance and cost efficiency.
- Ensure timely and precise fulfillment of parts orders to meet customer expectations.
