As the Director of Operations, you will spearhead the strategic direction, performance metrics, and daily operations of the Set Lighting and Grip Departments within the Production Services Network. This pivotal role is responsible for cultivating and enhancing operational excellence by leveraging strong leadership, data-driven performance management, and fostering collaboration across various production partners and vendors.
Your leadership will encompass managing workforce productivity, ensuring equipment readiness, and optimizing network capacity to effectively meet the demands of production. This includes setting operational standards, refining workflows, and driving ongoing improvements. You will be accountable for maintaining inventory integrity, alongside ensuring that safety, compliance, and process controls are rigorously applied throughout all facilities.
Your proficiency in managing complex operations, evaluating performance metrics, and collaborating seamlessly with other departments will be essential for your success in this role. Your ultimate aim will be to ensure flawless execution of productions while consistently delivering high-quality customer service and achieving operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee warehouse operations across all sites, ensuring standardized and high-performing processes from order intake through fulfillment.
- Establish and uphold operational controls, best practices, and performance standards for warehouse execution and customer delivery.
- Create resource allocation plans that guarantee sufficient staffing, equipment, and capacity to meet operational goals.
- Track and report on critical financial and operational KPIs, translating insights into action plans to enhance utilization, throughput, and cost efficiency.
- Enhance warehouse capacity, asset utilization, safety protocols, and weekly rental activities to ensure consistent operational performance and elevate service quality.
- Act as the subject matter expert on specialized rental and capital equipment, advising teams on optimal use cases and operational requirements.
- Manage and support capital and expendable procurement strategies.
- Stay informed on the latest LED, networking, and production technologies to proactively meet client needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with motion picture and television production teams to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Promote a high-service, client-focused culture in all team interactions.
- Assist departmental leadership with personnel management, including performance evaluations, scheduling, and coaching.
- Encourage a culture of professionalism, accountability, and superior customer service.
- Adapt to the dynamic production environment by adjusting priorities and resources as business needs evolve.
