This hybrid role reports to the Head of Ride Hail Operations.
The Director of Market Operations - East will serve as the senior executive responsible for the comprehensive operational health, service reliability, and long-term scalability of autonomous vehicle operations across both owned and partner-operated markets within the designated region. This role is essential in ensuring regional operations consistently provide safe, reliable, and high-quality service, cultivating and maintaining customer trust while aligning with Waymo’s strategic goals, regulatory responsibilities, and brand standards.
Functioning at a strategic and enterprise level, this leader will define the operational vision, governance structure, and performance benchmarks for the region, ensuring that empowered Market Leads and Regional Partner Leads deliver on operational outcomes. The Director will maintain accountability for regional operational performance metrics, including safety adherence, fleet availability, service reliability, rider experience, and demand fulfillment.
This position will also act as the primary representative of field operations for the region, conveying operational insights and challenges to centralized teams such as Product, Engineering, Safety, and Enterprise Operations. Through effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration, the Director will ensure operational excellence for both Waymo-owned and partner operations.
