The Director of Experiences & Events is a pivotal marketing leader tasked with establishing and expanding the events and experiences division. This role encompasses the development of strategies, designs, and the execution of impactful premium experiences that vividly showcase our brand, products, and value proposition to both B2B audiences and customers.
In close collaboration with Creative, Retention Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, and Communications, this leader transforms business objectives into quantifiable, comprehensive experiences that enhance customer engagement, retention, advocacy, and long-term brand loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
Experiences & Events Center of Excellence: Spearhead and modernize a centralized organization dedicated to experiences and events, supporting marketing and business functions. Define and implement the strategy, operational framework, calendar, and governance for owned, sponsored, and partner-led programs.
Experience Strategy: Oversee the comprehensive experience strategy across Nielsen events, industry conferences, executive forums, customer summits, and partnership events. Ensure that experiences align with target audiences, customer journeys, and cultural relevance.
Planning, Execution & Performance: Collaborate with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Retention Marketing, and Sales to tailor experiences to specific audiences and customer lifecycle objectives. Establish clear performance metrics and measurement frameworks for events and experiences.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Creative, Digital, Retention Marketing, Sales, and other departments to ensure all experiences reflect brand values, are informed by customer insights, and are executed consistently. Convert creative visions and narratives into engaging physical, digital, and hybrid environments.
Team and Vendor Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale cross-functional teams in event strategy, production, operations, and experience design. Lead agency, production, and technology partners to deliver high-quality experiences at scale. Manage timelines and resource allocation across the events portfolio.
Budget Management: Create and oversee the functional budget, ensuring all initiatives are cost-effective and deliver a positive return on investment.
