The Director of Distribution Operations for North America collaborates with essential internal and external stakeholders to optimize channel management and distribution solutions, establishing a premier distribution network. This role primarily involves overseeing Sobi's relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL).
The Director tackles complex challenges that necessitate a profound understanding of customer needs and the distribution landscape. By managing 3PL operations, this individual will work across various departments to facilitate issue resolution and drive continuous process improvements. The role is pivotal in implementing strategies that enhance value for Sobi and its Trade channel customers.
This position requires exceptional cross-functional collaboration with key internal teams, including Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Quality. Effective management of the interplay between internal stakeholders and 3PL partners is crucial for achieving distribution network success.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee account management to ensure seamless order activities between 3PL and distribution centers/trading partners in North America.
- Manage daily operations of 3PL services provided to Sobi, which includes coordination of inbound products and inventory, warehousing, order processing and distribution, logistics (inbound and outbound), and compliance with regulatory standards (DSCSA).
- Conduct scheduling and planning meetings to ensure product availability aligns with customer demands and monitor direct customer orders and sales daily.
- Engage with Trade customers to resolve queries related to account management, order fulfillment, and shipping delays.
- Negotiate contracts, implement, and oversee compliance with contractual obligations, ensuring adherence to the 3PL Distribution and Services Agreement.
- Collaborate with 3PL to devise effective shipping strategies for successful product delivery.
- Integrate 3PL operations with Sobi Finance for matters involving accounts receivable/payable, chargebacks, return approvals, and credit limits.
- Assess and mitigate risks within Trade Order Fulfillment Processes, aligning them with Sobi’s operational standards.
- Ensure compliance with Sobi’s operational standards and promptly address any arising issues.
- Develop and implement improvement initiatives.
