United Infrastructure is seeking a skilled and proactive Design Coordinator to join our dynamic team in London, following recent contract wins. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Design Manager with coordinating the consultant team to develop detailed designs that adhere to our standards and current regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating technical and design processes, managing design teams and subcontractors throughout the detail design, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Overseeing the technical design coordination of projects, ensuring compliance with the agreed program while maximizing revenue through quality, cost-effectiveness, and buildability of designs.
- Assisting the Design Manager in reviewing consultants' detailed design drawings and subcontractor designs.
- Driving high standards by coordinating consultants and their deliverables.
- Ensuring all designs meet United Infrastructure’s standards and budgetary constraints.
- Supporting the Design Manager in job execution and ensuring complete, accurate, and coordinated packages are issued to Commercial and Construction teams.
- Maintaining the company's values throughout the process.
- Managing subcontractor and supplier design approvals to ensure timely turnaround.
- Monitoring subcontractor design approvals and maintaining an up-to-date approvals schedule in line with the build program.
- Facilitating the flow of information to Commercial, Operations, and Clients.
- Updating and coordinating monthly design schedules.
- Reviewing and addressing design and technical issues with Commercial and Operations teams.
- Managing the change control process regarding drawing revisions, construction programs, and costs.
- Monitoring and acquiring all critical certificates to ensure proper documentation for completion and handovers.
- Collating necessary information and liaising with Planning Authorities and Building Control for submissions and approvals.
- Ensuring all documentation is accessible for the Document Controller.
- Processing information through workflows on the document management system.
- Ensuring current drawings are organized and that design information exchanges adhere to company protocols.
- Conducting site visits as needed and attending site and project meetings.
- Serving as the principal design and technical contact during construction, ensuring work on-site is executed as specified.
- Managing, investigating, and promptly responding to site RFIs.
