About the Position:
The DataOps Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the seamless operation of Setanta Tech’s data infrastructure, which includes AWS, RDS, MongoDB Atlas, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse as the primary data warehouse. This position serves as a vital link between our data engineering and analytics teams, emphasizing pipeline automation, data integrity, and compliance with security standards such as GDPR and CCPA.
You will be responsible for constructing high-performance, reliable data pipelines utilizing tools like Kafka, Debezium, and Airflow, ensuring that approved data is immutable, auditable, and secure.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Design and Construction: Create ETL processes using MongoDB Kafka Connector and Debezium for real-time data changes, leveraging Kafka to transfer data from RDS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL to ClickHouse through append-only methods.
- Workflow Automation: Implement Airflow to schedule tasks, manage errors, and integrate approval steps for data loads, ensuring data remains unaltered during transitions.
- Data Immutability Assurance: Utilize ClickHouse MergeTree engines and AWS S3 object locks to prevent unauthorized changes post-approval.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Employ AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to enhance performance, troubleshoot issues, and scale databases effectively.
- Quality and Security Maintenance: Conduct data accuracy checks, implement encryption, access controls, and audits to comply with legal standards such as GDPR and CCPA.
