About the job
Workyard is an innovative startup dedicated to transforming the U.S. construction and trades sectors, where an astounding $300 billion is spent annually on labor. Our cutting-edge SaaS solutions empower construction companies to efficiently manage their workforce, fostering trust, transparency, and accountability in a traditionally opaque market.
As we expand our robust core product and develop a multi-product roadmap, we are on the lookout for a talented Video Editor to take ownership of the post-production process for our YouTube channel and social media video content. This is a fully remote role, embedded within the content team, and reporting to the Head of Content.
Important: Applicants must be located in the Philippines with full working rights.
Role Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the editing process from initial rough cuts to final delivery. You will work closely with the Digital Community and Content Specialist (DCCS) who provides scripts and briefs, the videographer who supplies raw footage, and the graphic designer who creates animation-ready assets. Your objective is to transform these materials into captivating videos that engage viewers and are polished for publication.
This position requires proactive involvement; you will review scripts and storyboards prior to production, identify potential editing challenges, and make informed decisions at every stage of post-production. A smooth post-production pipeline is essential to ensure that downstream processes function effectively, avoiding any delays that could stall the channel's progress.
Your editing responsibilities will encompass long-form YouTube content, animating graphic designer assets in After Effects, and producing short-form versions for YouTube Shorts and social media platforms. You will collaborate with the DCCS on shot lists before each shoot, manage footage received from the videographer, deliver rough cuts for review by the Head of Content, and finalize edits for DCCS approval and publication.
