Your Role
As a Community Health Worker I (CHW-I) at the Edmonds New Start Center (EDNSC), a 24/7 Emergency Housing facility, you will provide vital health education, advocacy, and support to individuals experiencing homelessness or unstable housing. Your role will include offering both virtual and in-person assistance, ensuring clients have access to necessary health services.
You will conduct community outreach, assist with health insurance enrollment via WA Health Plan Finder, and facilitate access to health appointments and behavioral health services. We value lived experience and community involvement, and you will receive extensive on-the-job training with opportunities for advancement over time.
This position emphasizes a social justice perspective, requiring critical thinking about racism and its intersection with poverty. Familiarity with antiracist principles and their application in daily work is essential.
