The New York City Human Resources Association (HRA) is dedicated to enhancing access to medical, mental health, and substance use care, while actively working to prevent overdose deaths among its clients. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled individual to fill the role of Community Coordinator for the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program.
In this vital position, the Coordinator will oversee the HRA's Opioid Overdose Prevention Program, which includes providing essential training, technical support, and naloxone supplies to HRA and HASA-affiliated staff, contracted providers, and clients. Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and reporting all program activities.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program Director to strategize, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the community Naloxone distribution initiative. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting Overdose Response and Naloxone administration training for HRA and HASA staff, contracted vendors, and clients. This includes managing training recruitment, attendance tracking, initial and renewal certification, and reporting.
- Ordering, distributing, and managing the inventory of naloxone kits while maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
- Generating detailed reports on Overdose Response and Naloxone Training and Distribution, which will be submitted to the NYS Department of Health, NYC Department of Health, and in compliance with LL225 reporting requirements.
- Collecting and documenting overdose response and naloxone administration data from HRA and HASA staff and contracted vendors in a central database and reporting findings to the NYS and NYC health departments.
- Providing resources and training for HRA staff on evidence-based overdose prevention interventions.
- Participating in cross-agency overdose prevention meetings and workgroups.
