About the Role:
As a vital member of our legal team, the Commercial Counsel will report directly to the Head of Legal and will play a key role in overseeing various legal matters associated with Montu UK’s operations in digital health, clinics, and pharmacies. This position is essential for ensuring the legal robustness and compliance of our projects and contracts, aligning with our mission to provide safe and effective cannabis-based treatments to patients throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse array of commercial agreements, including vendor and supplier contracts, service agreements, platform and licensing agreements, marketing and sponsorship arrangements, as well as confidentiality agreements (NDAs).
- Deliver clear and practical legal advice to internal teams regarding everyday commercial, contractual, and regulatory matters, while escalating complex issues to senior legal colleagues as necessary.
- Support compliance with all relevant UK laws and regulations, encompassing contract law, consumer law, advertising and marketing rules, healthcare and pharmacy frameworks, and data protection requirements, in partnership with privacy specialists.
- Facilitate cross-functional projects by early identification of legal risks and proposing commercially viable and legally compliant solutions.
- Provide training to non-legal staff on essential legal topics, including contracting essentials, confidentiality, marketing claims, and basic regulatory requirements pertinent to their roles.
- Lead initiatives to enhance legal processes, including the implementation of systems and templates for contract management and exploring the use of AI tools for legal research and drafting.
