- As a seasoned Registered Nurse, you will not only provide direct patient care but also lead an interdisciplinary approach to patient management, patient flow, staffing, resource utilization, and problem-solving during your shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee unit operations during your shift, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate staffing assignments to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Guide patient care delivered by nursing staff and support personnel across your assigned shift.
- Promote new initiatives and participate in unit, departmental, or hospital-wide committees and task forces.
- Engage directly with patients and their families regarding their nursing care.
- Implement action plans to ensure safe, quality, and efficient care.
- Maintain the safety and security of patients, families, and staff.
- Deliver direct patient care, continually assessing the biopsychosocial and educational needs of assigned patients and their families.
- Document patient responses to therapeutic interventions and progress towards desired outcomes.
- Ensure completion of quality improvement activities for your shift.
- Assess and intervene in critical situations, consulting with management as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in line with regulatory standards.
- Analyze daily activity patterns and suggest necessary operational changes.
- Anticipate staffing needs for future shifts and arrange for coverage accordingly.
- Facilitate effective communication regarding incidents with relevant personnel (managers, administrators, medical staff, etc.), identifying key issues and trends for ongoing improvement.
- Provide input on budgetary matters, particularly related to staffing and cost management.
- Build collaborative relationships across departments to enhance patient care.
- Evaluate and communicate staff development needs to management.
- Orient new staff to the Clinical Coordinator and Charge roles.
- Act as a resource for team members.
