About the job
Focused Energy is a pioneering fusion energy startup dedicated to generating limitless clean energy to responsibly meet the future global demand. Our innovative approach leverages laser-induced inertial fusion, a highly efficient power generation technology that promises a secure and scalable energy supply for the future.
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and dependable Cleanroom Lab Technician who will be instrumental in supporting the operations, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of our cleanroom and experimental laboratory settings. This role is crucial in ensuring contamination-controlled environments, aiding scientists and engineers in various technical projects, assisting with installation tasks, and maintaining the availability of necessary equipment and consumables. Your contributions will directly support high-precision laser, optical, and experimental development initiatives that are vital to our mission in fusion energy.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleanroom Operations & Maintenance: Implement standard and advanced cleanroom cleaning protocols, including surface wipe-downs, floor care, consumable changes, and environmental monitoring to comply with cleanliness classifications and internal standards.
Technical Project Assistance: Collaborate with scientists and engineers in the preparation, execution, and conclusion of small to mid-sized projects, including component readiness, basic mechanical or optical setup, documentation, labeling, and safe handling of materials.
Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, tracking, and replenishment of tools, lab supplies, consumables, and specialized cleanroom equipment, creating an organized system that ensures availability while minimizing delays.
Equipment Coordination: Assist in the installation, calibration, and basic upkeep of cleanroom equipment and laboratory tools, coordinating with external vendors for servicing, repairs, and inspections as necessary.
Hands-on Construction & Installation: Engage in hands-on tasks beyond standard cleanroom duties, such as supporting infrastructure build-outs, racking installations, cable routing, light mechanical fabrication, and implementing new workflows or stations.
Compliance with Processes & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, contamination control, PPE requirements, and material flow regulations. Proactively identify and support corrective actions for any issues.
