The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) stands as one of the nation’s premier law enforcement agencies, dedicated to eradicating municipal corruption. Acting as an impartial and independent watchdog, DOI serves the citizens of New York City by overseeing government operations, City agencies, employees, vendors with City contracts, and entities receiving City funds.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic professional to join our team as the Chief of Staff for the Operations Division. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Deputy Commissioner for Operations and engage with various stakeholders and experts across the agency’s Operations, Investigative, Compliance, and Legal units. Your primary focus will be to provide project management support for a range of agency initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Deputy Commissioner of Operations.
- Offer specialized guidance to heads and managers in Human Resources, Finance, Internal Audit, IT, Facilities, Office Services, Records Management, Procurement, Statistics, Special Projects, and Occupational Safety and Health to foster collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders.
- Oversee projects of strategic importance, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, progress tracking, and timely delivery of outcomes.
- Formulate standard operating procedures, analyze policies, and implement strategies for stakeholder engagement concerning policy and procedural matters.
- Provide strategic guidance to optimize procurement strategies, reinforce operational priorities, and ensure adherence to City financial management protocols.
- Attend executive meetings and follow up on action items to guarantee completion.
- Analyze quantitative data and compile insightful presentations and memos for Executive Management and other stakeholders.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
