We are on the lookout for a Chief Marketing Officer to spearhead Haystack’s next growth chapter—enhancing brand awareness, fostering deeper viewer engagement, expanding our subscription base, and crafting our narrative across diverse platforms.
About the Role
This pivotal, hands-on leadership position is ideal for a dynamic and data-savvy marketer who excels in startup ecosystems. You will be responsible for defining and executing Haystack’s marketing strategy encompassing performance, branding, user lifecycle, partnerships, and public relations. Leading a compact yet formidable team, you will create campaigns that draw in new audiences, amplify our Premium subscription service, and enhance viewer loyalty.
This role is truly a player-coach position, where you will oversee everything from paid acquisition and lifecycle marketing to messaging, creative content, and communications. Your leadership will guide our narrative, enable effective measurement, and foster rapid execution.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership:
Formulate and implement a comprehensive, data-driven marketing strategy that effectively integrates awareness, performance, and retention across mobile, CTV, and web platforms.Brand & Consumer Marketing:
Develop and refine Haystack’s brand identity as the most trusted and personalized source for news consumption. Manage storytelling across all communication channels, from social media to product messaging.Performance & Growth Marketing:
Direct campaigns aimed at boosting installations, user engagement, and subscriptions via web and mobile through paid, organic, and partnership avenues.Affiliate & Influencer Programs:
Initiate and expand a creator-driven affiliate program that actively involves journalists, podcasters, and news influencers.Public Relations & Thought Leadership:
Cultivate Haystack’s industry presence through earned media, events, and thought leadership focused on FAST, local news innovation, and AI-driven personalization.Data & Insights:
Collaborate with analytics and product teams to establish marketing KPIs, enhance creative performance, and assess customer lifetime value across various campaigns.
