Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic and self-care activities to enhance client functionality under the supervision of the licensed occupational therapist (OTR).
- Monitor and support clients in their therapeutic activities, providing positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
- Participate in supervision meetings with OTR, assisting in the development of progress reports and updates.
- Document client progress using the SOAP note format during each session.
- Educate clients, their families, and caregivers on treatment techniques, under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrate exercises that facilitate the achievement of daily living tasks and therapeutic goals.
- Verify client information through interviews and detailed reviews of medical history.
- Implement care plans initiated by the occupational therapist and collaborate on necessary modifications.
- Teach therapy techniques including positioning, environmental adaptations, and strengthening exercises.
- Maintain accurate occupational therapy records to track client progress for the occupational therapist’s review.
- Ensure the clinic operates smoothly by maintaining therapy equipment, supplies, and compliance with health regulations.
- Promptly report equipment needs or supply shortages to management.
- Adhere to professional standards and best practices, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
