As a Casting Supervisor at McWane Ductile New Jersey, you will lead and manage the workforce involved in the cast production of iron pipes. Your role is crucial in ensuring quality standards and efficient operations are maintained throughout the production process.
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect materials during production phases to guarantee adherence to specifications and quality benchmarks.
- Monitor machinery and production workflows to ensure effective and reliable operations.
- Interpret production standards, quality expectations, and company protocols, adjusting procedures as necessary.
- Diagnose and rectify production, quality, and workflow challenges; propose enhancements to operational methods and conditions.
- Keep precise records of time, production output, scrap, and raw materials for casting operations.
- Oversee employee documentation, including start-up checklists and production records.
- Ensure production goals align with operational demands.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance supervisors to ensure equipment reliability and consistent production flow.
- Directly supervise a team of 30–35 hourly employees, adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
- Facilitate training and ensure completion of Job Safety Analyses (JSA), compliance with Pure Safety standards, and regular safety briefings.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure adherence to Lockout/Tagout protocols and other safety regulations.
- Enforce environmental compliance under Title V for the Core Floor operations.
- Administer disciplinary actions for hourly staff as required by company policy.
- Maintain regular communication with quality inspectors regarding pipe quality, responding promptly to feedback.
- Evaluate pipe quality at the casting station to ensure conformity with specifications.
- Identify and isolate non-conforming products to avoid integration into the annealing process.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Casting Department Quality Checkpoint Guide, including requirements for pipe identification and markings.
